Tyler J. Frey

Founding Attorney
Tyler J. Frey founded The Frey Law Practice, PLLC with a simple belief: condominium and homeowners’ associations deserve legal counsel who is accessible, practical, and genuinely invested in the communities they represent. His goal is not merely to provide legal opinions, but to help boards and community managers understand their options, make informed decisions, and move forward with confidence. Tyler understands that operating a community association can be demanding. Volunteer directors are regularly asked to make important decisions involving association finances, property rights, resident concerns, contractual obligations, and the long-term interests of their communities. Those decisions are often made while navigating complicated governing documents and evolving legal requirements. Tyler works to make that process more manageable by providing clear advice, identifying practical risks, and helping clients determine the most effective path forward. With seven years of experience working in law firms, four years as a licensed Florida attorney, Tyler has worked closely with boards of directors and community managers on the legal and operational issues associations encounter every day. His practice includes covenant and rule enforcement, collections and foreclosures, contract review and negotiation, corporate governance, statutory compliance, owner disputes, real estate matters, and litigation. Tyler approaches each matter with an understanding that every community is different. Before recommending a course of action, he takes the time to learn about the association, its priorities, and the practical circumstances surrounding the issue. Not every disagreement needs to become a lawsuit, and Tyler works to resolve matters efficiently whenever possible. When litigation or other decisive legal action becomes necessary, however, he is prepared to protect the association’s interests and pursue an effective resolution. Communication is central to Tyler’s practice. He believes clients should not be left wondering whether their attorney received an email, what comes next, or why a particular recommendation was made. By remaining accessible and explaining legal issues in straightforward terms, Tyler strives to provide boards and managers with guidance they can understand and put into action. His focus on responsiveness and personal service allows him to build lasting relationships with the clients and communities he represents. Tyler’s connection to Southwest Florida is personal. Born and raised in the region, he completed high school in Southwest Florida before earning his Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, summa cum laude, from Florida Gulf Coast University, with minors in Political Science and Entrepreneurship. He then chose to remain close to his roots while earning his Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law. Continuing his education in Southwest Florida allowed Tyler to deepen his connection to the area and build meaningful relationships within the community he has always called home. Through The Frey Law Practice, Tyler is proud to serve the communities of Southwest Florida and community associations throughout the state. Clients can expect direct attorney involvement, honest guidance, timely communication, and legal solutions tailored to the particular needs of their community.
